Daco please call or e-mail Barbara Gaerlan (bgaerlan@international.ucla.edu phone: 310-206-9163) she's going to be down in SD talking about year-long Philippines program through UC this Tuesday and would love for you to say something about your summer TOS experience. UCLA tosers, Friday Nov. 15th or Friday Nov. 29th are tentative dates to present tos info. to three tagalog classes at 2 in the afternoon. Let me know which dates/times work best for you. HANS, salamat my friend for bringing up language stuff. Contacted other batches about what they're doing and other than a few people gathering socially to speak Tagalog during dinner or watching Tagalog movies, people are finding it difficult to practice. Soooo, as soon as I get my stuff reviewed by my current Tagalog teacher, I'll be posting PYT or "Practice Your Tagalog" which will be based on little things you can do once a week just to remind yourself about the language we all spent the summer learning. Remember, Julman begins his internship with Athika. One of the communities we interacted with is in need of funds for a well. Loleng is still in PI doing an internship as well. Calculators?! Just a few things to keep in mind as we enter into the crass commercialization...I mean, holiday season. Sometimes even just a little bit can go a long way. Pass on any contributions great or small, I have the "Friends of TOS" account info. and plan to wire any funds collected to PI by the second week of December. More info. coming soon.
